Best parts of summer...

I love summer! I love the warm sun, the smell after it rains, the vacations, ice, summer camp. One of the best parts of summer is VBS. I loved VBS growing up and now that I'm an adult I get to help out with VBS and see all the children enjoy it. This year our theme was IPODS for Jesus. Our church staff did such a great job of putting it together. I'm truly blessed to have all of them in my life.

Here we are running through the music before the children show up.

We had a goal for the children this past week. We do homeroom hope project every year through our church. Our goal this year was 225 backpacks. They needed to bring in some to help us reach our goal. They went over our goal...we had a total of 322!! They did such an amazing job and in return yesterday all of our ministers got a pie in the face. Classic!

Here are our ministers taking the pie.

Beach Trip....

Last weekend we took a trip with some friends to Holden Beach. It was very relaxing. I'm not sure if it was just a secluded beach or if no one was traveling to the beach until Memorial weekend but you wouldn't see but 5 other people on the beach that whole weekend. It was wonderful.

We traveled down in two groups. One Friday morning and the other Friday evening. I was in the second group with my friends Darcen and Susan. We got there around 8ish.  This was a place we paced on the way. Not sure why this man has all this stuff but we thought it was interesting and kind of creepy.

We got to the beach around 8ish. The other group had been there since around 1.

Saturday we spent most of the day at the beach. Like I said before no one was really at the beach that weekend so it was very nice. Not to hot either.

Here is everyone playing in the water and the boys playing with the sea creatures.

Saturday night we went to a local restaurant and had some amazing grilled shrimp burgers. I know it sounds nasty but they were amazing. Afterwards we went and played a game of miniature golf.

Sunday we took one last walk on the beach, took some photos and then went back to the local restaurant for one last shrimp burger and went home. It was a wonderful weekend and I hope it's something we can do again.

Summer Time...

Well school is over! My grades are in, I made a C in Medical Terminology and a B in Algebra/Trigonometry. I've finally excepted my C in Medical Term. Memorizing does not come naturally for me and I believe that I truly gave it my best.

Now that it's officially summer time, and I have 3 months of freedom until I commit full time to school, I'm looking forward to a couple trips Cray and I have planned.

This weekend it's all about this....

I'm looking forward to being a beach bum and hanging out with some amazing friends. Have a great weekend!!
