Past 5 months in reverse...

Cray and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary on June 21st. We had a blast at the Whitewater Center in Charlotte.

School ended May 10th and unfortunately I failed one of my classes. So I’ll retake that class along with another class in the fall. I think I’m still a little bitter about it. Even though going into my two weeks of finals I did not feel at all confident in moving on it still just kind of sucks. It’s all in God’s hands though and He has a reason for everything.

My 24th birthday was March 14th. Cray took me out for my birthday and that was about it. Still had school that day and homework.

And that about finishes what I’ve been doing the past 5 months. School took up so much of my time. I learned a lot and I look forward to going back in August and learning more. The past 7 weeks I’ve been very lazy. I’m taking a summer class that bores me to no end but I need it for my degree. I keep thinking to myself I need a real job. Working nights and sitting around the house all day is no fun. I look forward to finishing up my schooling and moving on.

Words for the soul....

Work: A little
School work: A lot
Motivation: None

I’m having one of those days where I just can’t seem to get anything done. I’ve been looking at page 220 in my Anatomy & Physiology book for the past 15 minutes. It’s at this point that I want to give up and go home and see if I can accomplish something there. Unfortunately I can’t do that. So I took a minute to type into gateway.com (an online bible source) the word strength and see what it gave me. It gave me some wonderful reminders of God's love and strength. Enjoy!

Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always.
1 Chronicles 16:11

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
Psalm 28:7-8

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
Proverbs 31:25

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

A back up ring...

This week my ring is in the shop for its 6 month cleaning and inspection. My hand always feels so odd with out it.

So last night I nonchalantly asked Cray if I could have a back up ring for when mine is in the shop. He kindly but bluntly said no and went to sleep. I think it's a great idea but I think it's going to take a lot of begging to make it reality.

In other news yesterday was the end of my 3rd week of school. I've alrady had 6 tests and one pop quiz (that was NOT fun). I'm getting into a nice groove and everything is kind of starting to balance out. Thankfully it didn't take long at all. My family is coming in this weekend. I'm so excited to see everyone...it should be a great weekend!! Hope yours is great as well.

School check list....

1) School books. Check
2) Scrubs. Check
3) Stethoscope. Check
4) Records completed. Almost
5) Office done. Check
6) Lost my mind. Not yet!

School starts on Monday for me. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I received an email today from one of my advisers saying that I could go ahead and take my communications class since I don't have a full school load. I may not have a full school load but with school and work I'm full up. We will see though, as of right now all classes are booked but something might open up next week.

On a different note. Cray had an interview yesterday with the school for a programming position. He was the last person they interviewed and they said once they make their choice HR will contact him. So thankfully we will know no matter what. He feels like he did a good job and I'm sure that he did. It's all in God's hands now.

School....

Yesterday was my orientation into the Medical Assisting program. It went great. I have a lot of things to check off my list before August but I feel very confident in finishing it all. I had a major let down yesterday. After the orientation I went over to the financial ad office to see where my status was on how much funding I would receive from the school for my classes. They informed me that Cray and I make way too much money and I will not be receiving any government funding and I can't apply for the school scholarships.

I'm so very disappointed. School costs so much and no matter what they think about our income I know it's not enough to pay for school. Especially when I quite my job in August and start school full time. There is just no way. So I've been spending my morning surfing the web looking for any and all scholarships that I can apply for. My last resort is loans. I don't want to take out loans for school but if that's my last resort I'll do it.

Please keep Cray and I in your prayers as we make decisions for my education. Either way I'm going to school full time in August. It's just trying to figure out how we are going to accomplish this financial step.

Summer Time...

Well school is over! My grades are in, I made a C in Medical Terminology and a B in Algebra/Trigonometry. I've finally excepted my C in Medical Term. Memorizing does not come naturally for me and I believe that I truly gave it my best.

Now that it's officially summer time, and I have 3 months of freedom until I commit full time to school, I'm looking forward to a couple trips Cray and I have planned.

This weekend it's all about this....

I'm looking forward to being a beach bum and hanging out with some amazing friends. Have a great weekend!!

Thoughts....

Cray’s uncle passed away last week. It was unexpected so as you can imagine it was a very big shock to the family. Cray’s uncle was only 62. It has made me think about my own life. If I would die today what mark would I have made on the world?? It also made me think of Noah and Abraham. Do you think that they thought their lives were to short? I mean they lived for 700 + years. Still to them was that enough time to live the lives they wanted? Guess it shows that you only have one life to be the example God wants you to be. So don’t waste your life on unimportant things.

On a side note, I have 2 weeks left until school is over. CRAZY!! I can’t believe it…I’m having a heart attack just thinking about it. Some days I feel very confident and ready for my finals and then others I feel like I’ve learned nothing. Pray that my nerves calm down. Also I have about 7 1/2 weeks until I run my 5K. I’m up to a mile and a half; I run that in 14 minutes, 10 seconds. I’m very comfortable at a mile so I’ve been very reluctant to add anymore. My loving husband has been my coach. I thought I would never be able to run with him because he’s more extreme than me but it’s turned out to be very helpful.

I'm in.....

This past weekend I received my acceptance letter into the medical assisting program! YAY!! I'm so very excited and nervous. I’ll start school full time in August. Wish me luck!!

Snow...

Well it snowed again in NC. It's a couple inches I would say. This was last night at about 10:40.

This will make it the 2nd time in 3 weeks that it's snowed here, which is rare for Charlotte. Cray and I went out this morning to play in it. It was fun but a little cold.

Of course Goochie had fun too.

In other news my classes are going well. I had my first bad grade in medical terminology yesterday. It was a C which some people might not care if they get a C but it makes me feel like I'm not trying my best.

Well enjoy the snow...if you have any. Also Happy Valentine's Day.

Lights, Camera....

NOTHING. Okay so let's start off by saying I'm not one to try or make something new and not take pictures of it. I like to take pictures, for one gives me something to write on here about and two when I get really old I can look back at the pictures and say "oh yeah I remember that".

So with that said last night I made for the first time Hershey kiss cupcakes...YUM! At first I wasn't worried about making them. I mean come on people it's cupcakes! Then my BFF told me that she tried to make them and they turned out really dry. Well crap! Now she is not an incompetent cook so don't start judging. She's pretty darn good at cooking. She just needed to take about 5 minutes off the cooking time.

So...with that in mind and the fact that my lovely stove cooks hotter I went to work. I wanted to make mini cupcakes but can you believe walmart didn't have any? Come on walmart has EVERYTHING. Oh well guess it wasn't meant to be. So I ended up taking off about 7 minutes from the cook time. 7 was the lucky number because they turned out so moist and oh so good.

If my lovely batteries wouldn't have died you might have seen a picture like this...
haha...okay that's a joke. Mine don't look anything like that but when I googled Hershey kiss cupcakes this is what pulled up. Don't they look amazing though?? Okay enough rambling. Hope everyone has a great weekend! My eyes will be glued to my text books. :) Oh one last thing...took my first medical term test last night and made an 84. Not bad I guess.

Back to School....

Well yesterday was my first day back at school. I'm taking two classes this semester, Algebra/Trig and Medical Terminology. Thankfully I remember enough of math that it should be an easy course for me so that I can spend most of my time learning medical term. I'm so excited about this class but I must confess that I'm a little scared too. I read last night that I'll learn 1000 plus words through this course. That's a lot of words to remember how to spell, pronounce, and know the definition! Wish me luck!!

Schools Over...Time for Cheer

Well the fall semester is over…..finally. I checked my class this morning and I made an A for the semester in history 131. I thought I was going to make a B but turns out I made an A… round of applause. Now that it’s all over…for 4 weeks…I’m completely into the holiday season and ready to share with whomever some holiday cheer. (Whomever are my lovely readers…or lack thereof.)

Here are some pictures of our lovely home all decked up for Christmas.

How's everyone elses holiday season going? Are you done decking the halls or have you still got some finishing touches to do?

First Test...

So I had my first history test last week. I was so nervous!!! Before the teacher past out the test he told us he would post the grades before our next class. So I finished the test and felt really good about it. I was sure I made an A. Then the waiting started and of course the longer I waited for my grade the less sure I became of myself. To the point of I was sure I failed!!! The teacher didn't end up posting the grades until right before class the following week. THANKS!!! There was no need for me to do all that worrying though because I got a 94!! YAY!! Go me!!! One down two to go!! Hope everyone is having a great week and is enjoying this wonderful fall like weather.

History 131...1 month down, 3 to go

So I’ve finished my first month of school. YAY!! Sometimes I feel like I’m insane for starting school when all my friends are finishing college or are already out but then I get to class and half of the roster is filled with 40 year old and up adults. Makes me feel like it’s worth it when others older than me are trying to get a higher education. All I have to say is good for them because when I’m that I age I don’t think I’ll have that kind of dedication or motivation.

Our first test is in 2 weeks and I’m so nervous. The instructor is cramming 5 chapters into ONE test!! I don’t know if I should be thankfully because that means essentially we only have 3 tests this semester or if I should be freaking out because that means I need to get a B or higher on every test. We also have 3 short writing assignments due this semester along with a 2-3 page essay due at the end of the semester. On top of my class I need to get my paperwork together to join the medical assisting department. So stoked about that!!

My life is craziness!! Though I would not want to be in my BFFs shoes because she has a class twice a week that lasts 8 hours! Crazy right?? She always has her nose in a book!! If she’s not sleeping or eating she is studying.

Well that’s all that’s going on in my life. Work and school, and of course in my free time as many church activities as possible. How’s everyone else doing in the blogger world?? Everyone as excited about autumn as I am?? FYI I did a little DYI project this weekend hemming some slacks. Thankfully the camera worked so I could snap some pictures. I’ll post a blog tomorrow about an easy cheesy way to hem paints without a sewing machine.
